little update on the nittygriity of my not-so-boring lifez:P

Jam bday

went to eat dinner at a renowned jap restaurant recommended by davi babe. http://www.hungrygowhere.com/singapore/himawari_japanese_restaurant_neil_road/

had the dinner buffet which includes unlimited rounds of jap dishes such as sashimi (yummy, the assorted sashimi including salmon, white fish, octopus were darn fresh and we had an unbelievable 3 rounds of it!) , soft shell crab, grilled beef, tempura and even shabushabu!!! though the price is quite steep at $40plus per pax, its quite worth it i think.

the jap boss who is also the chef is super friendly, making a point to go around the tables to talk to his customers. jam had a nice surprise when the jap boss came out with a scoop of green tea ice cream and a 'singing' candle!

good bday dinner :)

Happy Father's day!

Jam booked the Rama Thai buffet lunch for dad.

I had a near accident when driving us to the restaurant. really scared me out of my wits. first time i was so close to having a collision with another car. I really thank god that everyting was ok, car is ok and most importantly, all of us were not injured.

the rama thai lunch buffet spread was ok, aroung 20plus per pax. there were fried chicken wings (Jam's fave), black pepper crab (my fave), thai kuehs (dad's fave) and satay (mum's fave). as dad is quite fussy abt food, we were really happy that he liked the food there and he ate a lot (till he got food indigestion in the evening...)

my father's day gift is euro cup season pass, $55+++, haha

Farewell Sutri

My good family helper of 3 years plus, Sutri, has decided to end her contract, cos she wanna go taiwan. tried to make her stay, but to no avail, then just a few days before her flight, she wanna stay! but too late le, cos all arrangements have been made.

went with mum to bade her farewell. Now when I am writing this, I am already missing her, miss her usual bochup/aloof/tomboyish attitude, miss her smiles (which are super rare) when i help her do little things, miss seeing her playing with my dear comfort... but she promise to come and visit us if she manages to work in singapore again.

after she went in, me and mum went to have our dinner. first time we took the skytrain from term1 to term2. went to see our fave food, sashimi, at sakae sushi. due to classes, very seldom had the chance to eat out with mum, but now hols, had the chance to eat with mum more. :)

Farewell XGM

my xian gan ma has left our workplace :(

lunch was yummy toasted bread made by xian gan ma using nanny's toaster, grinz. toasted bread with all kinds of fillings, such as tuna, smoked cheese, ham and even mashmallow and chocolate in all kinds of permutations and combinations!!! when the bread ran out, we had to come out with innovative ways to toast such as toasting cheese on hams etc...was great fun, and the toasted bread taasted especially nice as it was made by xgm.

we had farewell dinner at The Magic of Chongjin Hot Pot recommended by nanny and mish. http://www.hungrygowhere.com/singapore/the_magic_of_chongqing_hot_pot/ wow, there are different grades of mala base. being scary cats, we tried the normal mala. but as we ate, we got more adventurous and promoted to the more spicy grade, whcih is super shiok!!!

there is a great variety of choices for the steamboat, from the usual meat, prawns to more 'exotic' stuff like ox's tongue, cockles, glizzards etc, we just eat and eat. i tried the '8 treasure tea', din really like it, too 'herbal' for me i guess.

at the end, xgm shocked us all by giving us a treat! so nice and generous of her, cos the buffet was not cheap, ard $30++ per pax.

thanks XGM and all the best yar! :)
