Brotzeit, we gg to miss u jason!!!

The lead of today is our dear safety officer: JK! as he loves to drink, they had chosen a german restaurant (YEAH!) for food, beer and more beer!!! we made our way to brotzeit (in german is 'bread-time', interesting) after work, for once, everyone can leave on time, hehe. oh, all my mumSSS (of all sorts) went too, yeah, i feel so LOVED! but i was still lacking in fatherly love and a little in brotherly love, sighz

surprise surprise, guess wat did most of the girls order? not surprising, sausages...duh, which came in different sizes and thickness?!?! my mumSS even had names for each sausage dish, hehehehe. Seriously, the sausages were good, of cos the beer were good too.

midway, me went with fgM for a 'spin' which took ard 15min, but according to my dearest anti82 (who for some strange reason, loved to sit next to me,hehe), we took 30min for our 'spin'. F21 really had really niccccccccccccccceeeeeeeeee dresses, but too bad the prices weren't so nice. darn.

after brotzeit, we decided to eat MORE! so we made our way to the hk cafe upstairs where my fgM displayed her amazing 'cutting the toasted bread' skills. heng i was sitting near to Tree and hence ate her perfectly sliced french toast with peanut butter and maple syrup.

then out of no where, they started talking abt.......'kaka' (ghosts)! now i noe why my hostel mates like to stay up late to chat, watch tv, study, etc, cos hor sleeping early and alone may not be gd idea....after hearing those stories, i really admire my guts to stay hostel for the whole 4 years. hehe

usually this time at home, i would play my fave pc game: RAVENHEARST, but erm, i tink better not, if i want to sleep well tonite. if you catch no ball,u go and play ravenhearst with the music ON, then u would noe why. hahahahahas

RAtatouille

woke up amazingly late, at 1.30pm, with mum coming into my room and started suaning: wah, so good life hor, sleep until so late...

jam supposed to buy me lunch as usual, but looking at the time, we decided to meet straight at PS for lunch, as we are gg to watch our super-delayed cartoon: RaTaTouille. supposed to watch once it the movie is out, but the past weekends seemed to be quite busy.

the show is GOOD. it is really a FEEL-GOOD movie! the rat is oh-so-cute, wat's the rat's name?does he have a name? i can't rem...haha. For once, i am so glad i am no longer doing mice work, grinz

after the movie went jalan-jalan, my feet hurt frm my relatively new shoes, so i told jam that i need new shoes, which he tinks it is all an excuse, haha. aniawez, i am so happy that C&K are still having sale for selected shoes. The pair which i have been eyeing for quite a while did't have my size but 'sharp-eyed' jam managed to find a nice classy black pair, which was a steal at $20. i wore them right after i paid, and they are quite comfy too.

bought some sausages fm B2 (sorry, can't rem the name) for mum, which were pretty good too. $3.80 for sausage alone, $4.90 for sausage with bun and sauerkraut. :) then we went to parent's place to help out.

oh, forgot to mention that we spotted michelle chia and her bf at PS. i was buying my biscuits for my dear old comfort and when i looked up, i was staring right into this gorgeous hunk, which is the bf (also some actor, but i forgotten the name) of michelle chia. i din't really take a close look at michelle who is standing next to him. haha.

Weekend passes so fast......

Lazy sat

Woke up pretty early for a sat as dad bought by famous lakse for me and mum. Yummy! went to take a nap, wait for jam to come. today he bought famous carrot cake fm amk and my fave bubble tea. enjoyed the carrot cake while watching cable tv, nuah and eat and nuah and eat, sure get fatter and fatter...haha

at ard 7pm, we went to the pasar malam near at my parent's shop. so many malay food, see until luan. i tink the interesting ones are the halal 'you-tiao' and 'bwa kwa'. Jam bought the ramli burger, which i ended up eating cos was too delicious. i bought a kebab which is not fantastic yet cost a freaking $5, had to pass to Jam to eat. bought the TuTu kueh fm the famous stall, which I had been eating since young.

later helped parents tend shop while jam helped do so data entry for them. got home exhauested.

Sun Sheraton Tower and Novena Square

Sheraton Tower

me and jam signed up for the hotel lunch thingy as it was cheap, $28per couple including lunch. quite excited cos first time we go and attend such event. don't worry, no wedding bells soon, we just 'gian' for that lunch. haha

cocktail was time to walk around to see jewels, gowns etc, but we were more into enjoying their delicious appetisers which include salmon, goose liver and octopus complete with mocktails. grinz. one conclusion after walking ard and looking at all the stuff: wedding is so EXPENSIVE. other than dinner, need gown, jewel, photography and even spa/facial to look nicenice.

then we proceeded into the grand ballroom. wow, flying dutchman was the host, coolz! our 'cold dish' was served and was yummy too, got tempura prawn some more. it was followed by the double broiled soup, a healthy dish cos of the herbs but abalone was a tad too tough (and too small, ahha).

next was the emmanuel B bridal show. the models were gorgeous. of cos most of the gowns were stunning too. quite an eye-opener for us as we never see such close-up catwalks before.

this was followed by li bai's speciality noodles, where the prawns were very tender and soft. and the lunch ended with a bang: western plated dessert which is some CHOCOLATE MOUSSE, YUMMYx100!

the event closed with a lucky draw, which we never win anyting, as usual. oh well.

Novena Square

went to novena square after that. wow din't noe that now novena square is very 'sporty' , everywhere is sports shop, Fila, World of Sports, Outdoor Sports, Addidas, you name it you got it. the whole place was so 'sporty' that both of us got the sudden urge to run. haha.

oh, we din't noe there is a new novena square 2 where it is very 'korean'. A LOT of korean apparels. but what we loved best is the korean shop aka small marketplace on the 3rd floor. so many different types of korean tidbits and food, but a tad expensive. bought back a $3 kimchi for mum. Also bought some korean rice dumplings to try from the adjacent shop.

went home to rest abit before going to parent's shop to help out.

weekend passes so so so fast...............

always look on the bright side of life :)

one of the songs that never fail to cheer me up :)

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing. What have you lost? Nothing!)Always look on the right side of life...

opps, jam did it again....

what supposed to be a nice relaxing sunday of shopping turned out to be quite a bad day, esp for jam. he did stunt again, this time hitting the car against the pillar while making a right turn on the way out of the condo. it was partly my fault too cos i was not helping to look out for me as i was busy applying my lipstick at that time...oh well oh well, he was quite shaken that i had to take over the driving after tat while he made frantic calls to his frens to ask ard for any car repair shop that opens on sunday. sad to say, no one works on sun!

aniawez, wats done to be done, so we still went with our plan for the day which is to go for the sun flea market at china square. turned out to be quite a simple flea market (though quite a number of stalls on 2 levels), most of them selling toys and figurines and only a few clothes stalls. but tink i got a nice long necklace at quite a steal for $12.

then we went to the famous soy sauce chicken coffeeshop near chinatown, i tink it is called 'chuang ji mian' , but not sure. my dad used to bring me to eat there when i was young. the soy sauce chicken is super good! jam also second that! but it was quite sad that most ppl there are of the older generation; those who have not tried should give it a try, grinz

then we went to central clark quay and walk ard. most of the clothes are 'taiwansy' and more to my 82sis style, which is good for me cos i save $$$. oh, we saw jamie yeo and i was quite surprised she is quite small size, defintely shorter (and of cos much slimmer) than me. i always tot she is of some model height.

was feeling tired after walking ard, maybe cos of the morning trauma. so decided to go home earlier to face the music and tell parents of the bad news. of cos mum nagged quite a bit cos this is the 2nd time jam did stunt to the car. but no big scolding, sighz, poor jam, $$$ fly again. guess i drive the car more from now...

oh, gotta help parents at the shop as hari raya approaching. sats wil be burnt. but at least sunday shd be able still able to grab some rest, hopefully ...

we gg to the zoo zoo zoo, we love the zoo zoo zoo!

sat: finally a day to rest after a busy week of work and test, din't even have any time to look at websprees, play pc games and I even had to leave my dear pink psp at home one day, finally my long awaited sat!

woke up late and lazy. watched cable and treated myself to one-hour free trial of wedding dash. Manz, that game is so addictive that I played for one hour straight! then jam came with our super late lunch, mine was a super big packet of western chicken chop complete with coleslaw, baked beans, bread, fries and of cos, chicken chop while his is the usual, packet of chicken rice. Then we made our way to the Zoo for the'artic tale' movie screening!

'Artic Tale' at the Pavilion by the Lake (ZOO)
When we reached the pavilion by the lake ard 6.45pm (show is stated to start at 7.30pm), we saw hordes of families already on picnic mats and we realised that wow, it is really OUTDOOR screening....ERm, I was still thinking of those amphicentre with proper seats without aircon.Oh well, jam was thoughtful to bring along newspaper but piling the newspaper on the floor will look super out of place by the others' colouful big picnic mats. Luckily they sell picnic mats (table clothes actually)! phew. So we happily spread out the bright blue round checkered 'mat' and sat on it, took out our packet drinks and chips, waiting for the show to start.

The Artic Show is a documentary on the 'masters of the artic land', namely the polar bears and walrus, whole story narrated by Queen Latifah. Well, she can not only sing well, but also speak pretty well. Story was VERY moving, quite a number of scenes where one had to reach out for the tissue paper. sobsob. at the end of the movie, i think the message was sent out very well that all had to do one part to save the environment and let the masters of the artic land continue their way of life.

Apart from the crying kid behind me (who laughed everytime the polar bear appeared but started wailing once the big fat black walrus came on), the occasional moments where a poor mum had to stand up and bring her kids to the loo and a couple of technical glitches where the whole screen went black, it was an enjoyable movie experience, though i suffered a little from a sore butt after sitting on the cold hard floor. Next time I must bring cushions along. hehe

Night Safari
we made our way to night safari when the show ended ard 8.45pm. those with the 'artic tale' movie pass were entitled to 50% discount on the entrance tix and tram, so jam paid ard $30+ for both, cheap!

we went straight to catch the 'creatures of the night' show. the animals were well tamed and showed us many tricks, except for Ms Rebel OWL who insisted on clinging to a rope instead of flying to her trainer. She was on the rope for a good 10min and the poor show host had to keep sprouting off facts about owls to 'pacify' the audience. My fave part of the show was the cute little otters who can throw cans/plastics into recycle bins, they are oh-so-smart! we really enjoyed the 30min long show.

took a tram to go around night safari. alighted at east lodge to go onto the 'leapard trail'. Saw porcupines, leopards, lions, civets, owls etc. The night air was cool and breezy, hence making walking ard very relaxing.

Took tram back and along the tram got to see more animals, such as tigers, elephants, deers, etc. The commentar spoke so fast with some kind of accent that it's hard to hear out for interesting facts such as how heavy is an elephant (i have checked it on intenet, they weigh an amazing (4,500-6,000 kg)!!!)

There was a charity photography taking place near the exit and a donation of minimal $5 will allow one to take pics with any or all the animals there using own camera. so jam happily brought out his new panasonic camera and snapped away while I posed with the cheetah, rattle snake and owl.

had super late dinner the Bongsu burger outlet. So sad that the beef bongsu burgers were out, heard they are delicious. only the chicken burger and fish burger were left. Jam chicken burger was yummy but my fish burger was quite a let-down. oh well. but their fries are quite unique. Price is a little steep at ard $14 for a burger meal complete with coke and fries. but pretty worth it as it is super filling!

reached home ard 12.45am. super exhausted.

busy sat

last nite my sister prawn smsed me to meet up at 12 noon at ps, together with jac. so this morning gotta drag myself up early, at ard 11.30am. by the time i changed and gotten ready, it's already 1230. so i kept smsing to prawn that i am late. smsed her 3 times but no reply, i wonder whether it is because she angry. so i smsed jac instead and jac said she will reach ps about same time as me and she also smsed prawn many times, then jac and i suddenly gasped: prawn must be still sleeping, that's why never reply our smses!!!

aniwaez me and jac watched the 'high sch muscical' performance at the ps atrium, quite coolz. see little kids singing and dancing. very heng got this show thing cos i needed to buy present for my little cousin amanda for later her bday's celebration at her house. got amanda a pink top and pink pencil box. hehe. then me and jac went to eat lunch at long john. the new meal is very yummy! we waited for prawn till 2.30pm!!! she's late for 2and half hours. amazing. went to jalan jalan in ps for a while. then before i make my way to my little cousin's bday, i queued for ard 15min for the missy donuts at basement, never try before, but tot the kids will love them, so bought 2 packs of 6. i tried one apple strudel donut later, it is good! :)

went to aunt's place with jam and mum. wah a lot of food and bbq. i simply loved the duck which my uncle got back fm hk.hehe. i had the drumstick, yummy! then i also gobbled on the lobster and sotong and satay. eat and eat and eat.hehe. then me and jam played with my little cousins, they are oh-so-cute. i can never get bored playing with kids, they are SO adorable!!!:)

Demsey road is coolz!

It's fri, my fave day of the week, haha

Went for lec in ntu and today's class on modeling and how to apply modeling clinically. so we have this lecturer who did his phd in cambridge (wah!) teaching us abt thermography in breast cancer, about how the breast has to be 'seperated' into 5 segments with 32 zones and test the temperature on the different zones. he hopes that one day thermography can be used to act as 2nd opinion in addition to mammogram to screen for breast cancer.quite interesting.

after lec me and jam had macdonald in the ntu canteen. then we decided to join his colleagues at demsey road. we very suaku, dunno where is demsey road, heng the taxi driver noes. then when we reach, we noe why his colleague say it is very romantic place. cos it is SUPER DARK!#!#! poor us and taxi driver kept driving in circles to find the 'wine company', in the end our taxi fare came up to a amazing $17!!! I think we passed it 3 times before we realise it is the ONE. too dark and the restaurant sign super small. aniwaez, the red wine there is pretty good. and jam and his colleagues had a great time talking abt their fave topic: stocks.

got home ard 1am, heng face not very red fm the wine.hehe
